Exclusive Interview with Anaya Fernando

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anaya Fernando.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

I am a teen entrepreneur and student from the city of Kalamazoo, Michigan. I love to dance, play tennis, and all things uber cute. I have always wanted to start my own business. Years ago, I used to sell paper dolls and snacks, and I even tried to launch a yard sale business. But it wasn’t until 2018 that I had an idea for my business, Sugar Sweet Bath + Body Treats. Sugar Sweet Bath + Body Treats currently offers fun shaped and great smelling bath bombs, body butter, scrubs, and soaps that only use natural ingredients. Since the start of this business in 2018, with the help of my family and friends, I have been able to launch my online store and participate in a ton of pop-up events.

When I created this business, I wanted to ensure that we would always be giving back and serving others. So, we developed a community-based mission. This allows us to partner with organizations and churches by volunteering or even donating money and goods to make an impact in the community. My vision is to offer quality products to our customers around the globe while always serving and making a difference in my community.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

I know that I am young, but I have overcome a lot of challenges these past few years. I have learned that stepping out into business requires tough skin and consistency. One particular challenge that I had to face was launching a new business with a small budget. But the upside to that is it forced me to become more creative. Sometimes uncomfortable situations help you to come up with new solutions and innovative ways to get things done. I discuss how I have been able to navigate a lot of challenges as a young entrepreneur in my upcoming collaborative book, “The Science Behind Volume 2”.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

The reason someone should work with me over my competition is that this business and its vision is bigger than me. I want to use my business not only to be helpful in the community but also to provide jobs to people that struggle with employment due to having stuff on their record. I am not in business with just myself in mind but I see this as a vehicle to make our customers happy with great products but also to be a help and eventually provide jobs in the community.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Find a way to use your gift and also to serve others and success will always follow. Success is not only found in money and things but success is also found in who and what you serve.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

To me, success simply means maximizing my potential, pursuing my dreams, and helping others along the way.

What’s next for you?

Right now I am in the process of releasing a book with a group of young entrepreneurs from all across the nation. The book is titled “The Science Behind it Volume 2”. We wrote this book to inspire and even be a guide to other young entrepreneurs and their parents. Anyone interested can find it on my website.

I will also be releasing a new line of products and making major changes to the brand in 2021 and I am so excited for everyone to see this in the near future.
